TI-36X Pro Setting ε - Matt Agajanian - 11-25-2022 03:43 AM

In the manual, it seems that to adjust ε, the expression must be written in Classic mode. Is there another way to adjust that value?

Yes, use the TI-30X Pro MathPrint instead. Smile

The 30X Pro MathPrint has two more entries on the 'math' key's 'MATH' menu compared to the 36X Pro (and 30X Pro MultiView):

7:nDeriv(
8:fnInt(

Those bring up similar templates to the d/dx and ∫dx 2nd functions in MathPrint mode, but with a place to adjust the ε value.

Same on CASIO fx-991EX: d/dx(f(x), a, tolerance) and integrate(f(x), a, b, tolerance)

I like this option on the MathPrint!

The Casio fx-991EX always appears to use a small epsilon where the result will appear to full accuracy at the 9 digit display setting.

Performing differential calculations
1. Press ; G.
2. Specify the following parameters: function with variable x, value of
x, and minute interval (dx).
You do not need to specify the minute interval. If the minute interval
is not specified, it will automatically be set to 10−5 (while x = 0), or
| x | × 10−5 (while x ≠ 0).

Excellent! Now that I have my 30X Pro MathPrint, I can fully dive into these operations!
