41c clear plastic display window - Johnboy - 03-27-2024 03:05 AM

Hi all, I have a 41C full nut with cracked a display window, and I have donor calculator ready to swap the window with.

I realise the LCD display needs to come out to do this, but does anyone have any experience and suggestion on how to remove the display window without damaging it or the calculator case ?

It might depend on whether it's glued in (I don't think it is), or maybe plastic welded/heated etc which make it more difficult to remove.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

Hi

If your 41c's LCD module is soldering to the keyboard PCB, like below picture.
You could de-soldering the 18 pins (color in gold). then you could remove the LCD by lifting the top of the LCD module.

Yep, LCD unsoldered, display is out. Now how do I get the plastic window out ?

Thanks
