Future 12C Models?
Hi
I was curious with the new 15C Collectors Edition if there are any future plans, news or rumours about any new 12C models being produced in the near future? I was hoping I guess like many people there would have been a 40th anniversary edition 12C |

RE: Future 12C Models?
MORAVIA did some basic changes (the screw etc.) when taking over and the model is and will be in regular production, IIRC. The 40th anniversary doesn’t feel like something special, to me anyway, I do not expect anything to happen. Maybe the 100th anniversary when no longer in production but that isn’t likely, is it :-)

RE: Future 12C Models?
We already have too many, useless, 12C variations.

The 12C Prestige was the Brazilian equivalent of the Platinum, not a limited special edition for collectors. The rarity outside Brazil is what made some collectors elsewhere seek it out. |

I know, but local editions, due to their limited availability, are similar to special ones. Nobody would care for those if their color scheme was the same of the Platinum's. RE: Future 12C Models?
At HHC, during the presentation by Moravia, Radim Frydrych, who is the product manager for the non-Prime Calculator models, announced work will begin soon on an enhanced version of the 12C Platinum to be available in late '24/early '25. Specific details were not discussed, however he did mention a possibility of having a USB-C port, plus additional functions (new to Finance models). And although not discussed there, much faster and much more memory are likely as well and these just come with modern platforms.
A video of this presentation will be available at hpcalc's YT page in a couple weeks. --Bob Prosperi |

USB port and trig functions (to parallel the 10B++) would be a great addition, along with more programming steps. |

RE: Future 12C Models?
(10-08-2023 04:23 PM)Eddie W. Shore Wrote: Potential enhancements: I showed at the recent HHC 2023 conference a modified version of HP-16C microcode, running on Nonpareil on my laptop, and in a physical DM16L which I passed around. I expanded the memory substantailly, and added natural and common logarithms and exponentials, y^x, factorial, trig, and inverse trig functions (presently for degrees only). I've been working on adding the basic statistical functions. I started with the 16C because it's my favorite Voyager, but all this has been done with the goal of doing similar things with the 12C, and expanding the memory of the 15C even further than with the patches which Hrast Programmer, J-F, and I created (used uncredited in the HP-15C CE and the DM15 and DM15L). Changing the number of program steps in the 12C is an incompatible change, in that GTO and GTO . will require a three digit line number rather than two. The f shifted digits are available also, with another incompatible change, adding either a DSP function that takes a digit or dot argument, or adding FIX, SCI, and ENG with a digit argument. I don't believe that HP, Moravia, Royal, or SwissMicros will want to introduce any incompatible changes to a product sold as a "12C" (vs. "12C Platinum" etc.), but there's no reason that alternative firmware can't be created, and installed by those posessing a suitable cable. |

RE: Future 12C Models?
I can exclusively reveal that this new 12C will have a hidden 15C *and* a hidden 16C mode.
And it will be available to pre-order from the beginning of April next year! ;-) |
