Indeed there is a "+" missing between lines 065 and 065. I think this might be the answer to all your other questions. When the parameters of the curve fitting expression are properly changed, I estimate a 3x speed-up factor in the computation of Zeta(2). Thank you very much!

A: Zeta(x), x > 1

B: Zeta(x), x<>1

It'll be fast enough on the 35s, despite the need of the evaluation of more terms.
