HHC 2018 Thread - comments and questions welcome
Although I am not present out there this year :-( I and others are hopeful that we will hear how things go.

I'm sure Joe Horn will be posting the programming contests soon.

The speaker schedule is attached. Let the fun begin!

Interesting, Dave Cochran is on the list...

Last I remember of him was an interview about 5 years ago on Youtube.

What’s this line on the schedule about? I hope not!

Is this the penultimate HP Handheld Conference?

Great blog post! I look forward to binge-watching the TVS videos when they come out!

I spotted one typo that ought to be corrected - you transposed two letters of Dave Cochran's name in the section title.

Ian,

I just corrected the spelling. It should be correct now. Thank you for pointing it out - much appreciated!

Funny detail: I was looking at the titles to decide which one to view first and without hesitation chose "Unisonic Calculators". Interestingly this happens to be the talk which has the most views so far - what does this tell us about HP calculators and their afficionados...? ;-)

Regards
Max

NB: In Germany the Unisonic calculators were sold by a variety of department stores under their own brand names (like MBO or Privileg). For example the cute "911" was sold under the name of "Pico" by a coffe chain (Tchibo) and is now quite sought after.
NNB: The "super rare" 1499 with hyperbolics was sold as "Privileg 1081ESR-E" around here and is still quite easy to find on eBay. It was the bigger brother of my first ever calculator the "883ESR-R" which did not have the "HYP" key and a green display instead of the red one.

Be sure to take a look at the Old Calculator ads presentation for a preview of some of the 1500+ ads from old newspapers that are present on the HHC thumb drive.

Thank you for posting these Eric (and chasing me with the camera! - I'll sit still next time!)

I was not able to post all of the code for the audio and plotter stuff so may post it here later. Pm me if you have questions.

Wow, you won the RPN 1250 as a door prize? Nice prize!
That was obviously a lot of work. How many did he make?

Nice job on the conference summary, Eddie!

Hello!

Yes, that one. The white keys of mine look a litte less yellowed, so it comes closer to the original Unisonic 1499 colors. Unfortunately there are no good pictures of the Unisonic on the internet but the Privileg and the Unisonic have an almost identical keyboard and the same display, so I guess internally they are the same calculator.

Regards
Max

Eric, did you (or somebody) recently go back through all the old HHC videos and indicate in the description who the speakers were? I can see that was done recently on even the very old ones and THANK YOU! In the past, I was forever trying to connect names with faces with writing.

It was a little thing, but much appreciated.

No, they've always been like that. I haven't touched any of those since the year I uploaded them.

Hah, that's too funny. I could have sworn that in the past that had stymied me.
Well, never mind then!
I'll still heap praises upon you for recording them in first place and putting them up.
Stuff like that is great now, but will be really priceless someday.
