41c series LCD displays
Hi All,

Within the full nut 41c calculators, are the LCDs interchangeable ? On older 41c calculators I noticed an extra connection on the left side, but I don't think it does anything. Newer 41c/cv/cx don't see to have that connection.

Any info appreciated about the displays, differences etc.

Thanks
John

Hi.

Here is the service manual:
41c/cv/cx service manual

On the page 187-191 there is good info about display revisions.

I believe that the oldest display driver with square shaped "chips" - resin covers - is not forward compatible with newer ones with round shaped resin blobs. All the drivers with round resin blobs are interchangeable. Newer displays are a tad wider.

More on the original square driver displays. An older CL discussion.

RE: 41c series LCD displays
Thanks Geoff and Karel, I don't seem to have any lcd displays with teh very square blobs, so I guess all my displays are compatible.

Cheers,
John
