Update of HP82240B simulator to v1.07
HP82240B v1.07 is available at http://hp.giesselink.com.

Whats new:
  • added simulation of the HP82240A type (with A-type Roman8 graphic font and disabling the ECMA94 font)
  • fixed some characters in the B-type Roman8 and ECMA94 graphic fonts

Simulating the HP82240A is more or less a gimmick. I especially was interested into the Roman8 font differences between the A and B type. Before Sylvain Cote mentioned this in this forum some month ago, I wasn't aware of it.

You may test this by executing the self test << 27 CHR 254 CHR + PR1 >>

Excellent!

Any chance we might see a 2225 or 7470 simulator in the future?

The KE5FX GPIB Toolkit includes emulation for the 7470a. Looking at the C++ sources, it seems that it could be adapted to HP-IL. For that matter, if you just dump the HP-GL to a file, the 7470a emulator can render the plot from there.

I'll give the latter a try and start a new thread if it holds any potential.

[Request]

1: use a pixelated font, as that present in hpuseredit

2: please can add a skin (on/off) to give more realism to simulation

What about adding a similar optional gimmick for the ECMA-94-based font? After all, the HP 49/50 and HP 39/40 character sets differ slightly from that of the HP 38/48 in regard to the euro character € at 0xA0 and the small superscript -1 at 0xB3. See:
