Tiger Running spring is just outside Hangzhou at the foot of Daci (Great
Compassion) Hill. Its water seeps out from barely soluble quartzoze sandstone.
The water is very pure clear and sweet and is considered the best water for
making tea by the locals. The water has a greater surface tension than ordinary
water such that it can be poured into a cup 3mm above the brim without
overflowing and a nickle coin can float on the surface if carefully placed.

This water is said to be the best for making tea and a lot of people seem
to know it! We went up, toured the spring and came down and the line looked
the same. Most people let their bottles keep their place and sat elsewhere.
