TI-95 Procalc
I’ve recently acquired a working TI-95 Procalc with 8kb extra memory module (I also have another one that has never been able to power up - a number of EE friends have tried and failed to get it going).
I’m trying to find a cable that would link the 10 pin male socket of the 95 to a PC.
The TI-95 cables are like ‘hen’s teeth’ to find but I’m told that the TI-74 cable will work with the TI-95?
I also found a schematic online to build a cable BUT stupidly forgot to bookmark it and now I can’t find it again! (Yes I’ve looked through my browsing history!).
Does anyone know where a circuit diagram might be online or does anyone have a spare TI-74 cable I could buy please?
Thanks
Dennis

Is this related to what you are looking for?

Make sure your PC has a real parallel port. The link cable won't work with a USB to parallel converter.

Yes - thank you both.
I did know about the parallel port requirement, but thanks for the reminder.

Would a 9 pin to 25 pin adaptor work?

There's no such thing for parallel ports. Serial ports, yes. Not Parallel.

I do not know about the specific of the TI-95 Procalc interfaces but the old PC's had a DB-25-Female connector for the parallel port and you needed a DB-25-Male to Micro-Ribbon-36-Male cable to connect your Centronics printer.

The Centronics printer port is also known as the parallel port. You could look it up! Smile

Thanks for some of the helpful responses - I’ve found the articles that I’d lost it’s at
http://www.suddenlink.net/pages/curtismc/7495.htm

There is a link to a circuit diagram for a reverse engineered PCIF buried in the article which I’ve separated out into a separate PDF attached below.

Thank you, I know what a parallel port is. I started using computers in the '70s before USB was invented so I've hooked up enough parallel printers and built enough hardware to connect to a parallel port in my time!

My bad! I read it as, "There is no such thing AS parallel ports" instead of "There is no such thing FOR parallel ports"

That makes all the difference in the world! I, too, have been using computers a while ever since I built a logic trainer out of an Intel 4004. I also bought the parts for a Mark-8 (Intel 8008) but I never did get to build it. Before I could, some guy in Albuquerque, NM came out with a practically empty box built around an Intel 8080A that cost less than the CPU chip alone! I just HAD to get that Altair 8800.
