HP-65 1602A01827 restore and an idea for the back label
Hi everyone,
hope everyone is doing well and in good health ! Since we are in a regional lockdown we took out our tools and got back to work. This was a simple restoration, but we have worked out an idea that could be of interest for the applying the back table as smooth as possible. Using an old plastic mat we have cut a piece of it exactly the size of the back label. It must be of the exact size, it will be used to apply the necessary pressure once the glue has been sprayed and it will be used to keep under pressure the label while the glue dries out. Attached is a link with some picture, we will post the final result tomorrow since the glue must dry for 24 hours (it's a 3M model) As a final note, we had restored the card reader wheel with silicone tubing but it didn't work so we reversed to the o'ring solution HP-65 1602A01827 restore and an idea for the back label [Edit] Please note that since the Apple shared albums are posted with the most recent picture first, the picture with the back label attached was taken before the restoration and before the label was removed Edoardo & Alberto |

RE: HP-65 1602A01827 restore and an idea for the back label
Hello and thanks for sharing the photos and the video. Does the video show the original back label or is it a replica?
I need a back label for my HP-55, because I received the device without a back label. Do you know of a process for making a replacement back label? Any hint will be very much appreciated. Best regards Karl |

Hello
the one in the video is the original one, which has been removed in order to open the unit and has been glued back, later today I will show the result ... As far as from replica labels you may try on TAS, lookout for this seller waterhosko, he makes this for the HP67 so he ma be doing other as well, or inquiry the forum here ... Great job Alberto, really great
A nice photo report also of the process Bravissimo!! I'll try one day (if I'll find the pasta machine, which takes rest somewhere in a friend of mine's backyard) in restoring the label of one of the 67's which has problem in the upper corners: I'm the guilty while attempting to fix the card reader, time ago ... |

RE: HP-65 1602A01827 restore and an idea for the back label
We have uploaded a few more pictures
With the described method the pressure was applied mostly on the outside of the shell By putting a couple of plastic water bottle caps inside the shell we have been able to apply a quite homogeneous pressure also from the inside The result is shown in the last uploaded pictures and we think is better than before We will try it with a less well preserved label and see hot it turns out Take care !!!
