HP10...how difficult to open?

HI,

I have an HP10 (Kiss). One display segment does not work and I would like to make a try to repair it.
As I read the hp19c was very, very difficult to re-assemble (with all those intermediate boards and pin connectors, etc.) and I have slim chances to repair it, I was reluctant to open it...but maybe it is not the case.

Do you have experience in that sense? Is it similar to Hp19c or not?

(does anyone have an HP10 display to trade with?...I had to try ;-))

Dear Ignacio,

The HP-10 is much less difficult to reassemble than the HP19C. Just be
carefull that the pins do not bend and stay in their position. Then you can
rather easily reassemble the calcuator. I first put the PSU and CPU boards together
such that the two sets of pins were connected. Then assembled the keyboard. In this way only one row of pins need to be put together. I used a rather intense LED torch to
look into the calculator and check that the pins were aligned. It was rather easy in this way.
