Digital microscope fun
bought digital usb microscope in Beijing last year and forgot about it. well out it comes (15 dollars) and I hooked it up today.
found out that not all 19Cs are created equal. I have two here, one with an attempt at a repair and the other fully working after repair. only one has the HP logo in the decimal place and here it is. the grey background is the shaped LED. The hp is not part of the led. |

I know ;-) and I have been trying to photo the hp logo since. This post is just an exercise to see what a cheap 15 dollar usb digital scope can do:
here are some more of HP 01 trace damage and an HP 01 led segment: now we know why this corroded HP 01 movement does not work! compare the above to the following working module: |

Nice pic!
I wonder why HP didn't make all their LED displays with their logo as the decimal point it was a really nifty idea. -katie |
