REVIEW- HP-50g introduction videos by mathtutordvd
This is a brief recommendation for the introductory video series entitled,
"The HP50g Calculator Tutor: Volume 1 -- 7 Hour Course". - Jason Gibson offered videos as DVD and downloads - 31 lessons total (free sample of 6 lessons in link below) - I don't think Jason offered a Volume 2 I thought the videos were a nice introduction to the functionality of the 50g. The instructor had a logical lesson plan and provided crystal-clear explanations. I found the lessons to be packed with information and examples to follow. The on-screen 50g makes it easy to follow along at home with a real 50g. The class tone and pace was that of a college course IMHO. Overall, I found the course to be excellent. Seven hours does not cover everything. But I walked away comfortable navigating the keys, menus, and main functions of the 50g. For more details and video links: https://www.mathtutordvd.com/products/Th...lume-1.cfm## Going forward, I'll make a deeper dive with other materials, such as: https://literature.hpcalc.org/all#lang:E.../model:50g https://resources.thiel.edu/mathproject/...efault.htm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRL9bDlv...owDrnnAGMs |

Carey beat me to it, I was also going to suggest checking the channel from
https://www.youtube.com/@rolinychupetin to date, AFAIK, the gold standard for YT tutorials on the 50g. I have the set from Jason on DVD, but never got around to watching them, I look forward to hearing your comments after checking out this free alternative. --Bob Prosperi |

Note that my last link a is free 3 hour HP-50 introduction by a Civil Engineer in Spain (broken into 11 videos). One could enable "English subtitles" on YouTube. There seem to be a few presentation slides with a lot of English terms, but there still are some Spanish words. |
