HHC 2015 RPN Programming Contest - centered around the HP 41C
Just as an FYI. For the RPN programming contest this year, it will center around the vanilla HP 41c. You are welcome to try the contest on any RPN machine, but only vanilla HP 41c instructions will be allowed. HP 41CX specific instructions for example are also not allowed.

So be sure to bring your HP 41C or 42S or ? Just remember that only the basic HP 41C instruction set is allowed.

Questions?

Gene:
I will not be able to attend this year, but please let us know about the contest. I would have enjoyed a lot to participate, as the "plain" 41C is my favorite calc (ok, 42S may be too).

May you admit "remote" participation in the contest (of course, without "rights" to claim any prize)?

Andrés C. Rodríguez (Argentina)

Please disregard idiomatic mistakes.
My posts are mostly from old memories, not from current research.

I will publish the contest here in the forum.

I will also have a prize awarded to the best result in the forum. :-)

Perhaps a special Gold Star award to anyone finding a solution on the 30b?

It does not matter what machine you use.

The only thing that matters is the size of the routine and that it use ONLY HP 41c vanilla instructions.

If the routine cannot run on a vanilla HP 41c out of the box, then it is ineligible. No x-functions, no CX functions, etc. Vanilla HP 41c only. :-)

Reminder... HHC 2015 RPN Programming Contest - centered around the HP 41C ONLY

Please bring your HP 41C calculators to HHC 2015. The contest entries must run on a vanilla HP 41C - no x functions, no synthetic programming, etc. The 1979 vanilla HP 41C instruction set.

If you bring another machine, no problem... but your entry must only contain vanilla HP 41C instructions.

I will give special points (somehow) if someone solves the contest using X-functions, HP 41CX functions, etc. :-)

The answer is 13.245. OK now I will wait for the prize!

:-)

Namir

Here is the HP-41C source code so no one will accuse me of pulling the above answer out of thin air!

Code:

LBL "WINNER"
13.245

No cheating Namir. :-)

I don't care what machine you use, bring your HP 55 or HP 25. But the instructions must be those that can run on the HP 41c.

No ISZ instructions. No AROT functions. It has to run on the 1979 vintage vanilla HP 41C instruction set with no plug in roms, etc.
