TDS 256K card for SX Need SWITCH Library
Hi I just purchased TDS 256K RAM card. Does anyone have the TDS SWITCH library? I can't find it anywhere. I tried using Super Switch, but is say's its for the GX and appears to be buggy on my HP48SX Version E.

This issue comes up every now and then here, and I don't think anyone has found it before. Suggest you please submit it to Eric at hpcalc.org so that more folks in the community can find it. Thanks for helping out, it appears you have something relatively rare and hard to find; glad you are willing to help the community.

Yes putting this on Hpcalc.org would be a great service to the HP48 community. Thanks again Allen you made my weekend.

A possible reason why the original TDS switch lib can't be found on hpcalc could be the copyright issue;-)

RE: TDS 256K card for SX Need SWITCH Library
This seems to be the Switch-library that also I was looking for previously.

But how is it used?

It is now on hpcalc.org, likely(?) with some docs...

I have not used it, but it's likely that you just install the library like any other (remember to restart), and that installs the low-level s/w that gives you access to the card banks beyond the original SX limits.

Yes indeed it's on hpcalc.org, but there is no further user guide. I have installed it as indicated, however I don't get the grip of how to use it...

Anyone?

Do you see additional Ports beyond 1 & 2? I don't have the card, but I presume (always dangerous...) that it either gives you an additional 128KB Port (probably #3) -or- that it increases the size of the existing Ports?

For easier reference, this is where the SWITCH.LIB can be found now:

RE: TDS 256K card for SX Need SWITCH Library
Yes I have installed the Switch library in normal manner, that is download it in binary 0 STO. Power cycle. I now get Invalid Card Data message.

In the menu there are:

BS1
BS2
BANKN
SEARCH, and
BSVER(SION)

I have tried to install the card into both slots of my 48SX, but to no joy. When the TDS 256KB card is installed in port 2 I can see that there is a card in that slot.
Trying to figure out things - BANKN ought to initialize the number of banks and what port I am using. For me, I imagine, it would be 2 2 BANKN. Switch accepts this command. Then I try 1 2 BANKN => Errror: no card in port 1, which suggests that everything is good so far. Or is it?

I am getting no further...
Anyone have clues?

Thanks in advance, Matti

After you allocate/select the port using BANKN, you probably need to initialize the port using PINIT [LS][LIBRARY][NEXT][F2].

Which card exactly? I believe this library was written for a special 48SX bank-switching card that TDS made. They look like this:

If you have a later card like this (made for the GX), the SWITCH.LIB might not work for you.

I could be wrong about that.
