2015 rebuild of the HP-IL CMT display
Hi all,
After looking at the CMT display : http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-4697.html. I have decided to create my own. I have used the new DISCO-F746NG platform (47$), a battery shield and my own Pil-Box Shield (chip from J-F Garnier). On the software side, I converted part of J-F Garnier/Christoph Giesselink/Tobie Niggli code from Arduino to mbed (https://developer.mbed.org/). That gives the following result: Screen details: Back side: I have implemented Ildsip not Ildrive. The platform has far more capabilities: microSD, capacitive multi-touch panel,... Patrick |

The ultimate HP-IL accessory for the nerd that has everything. Will you be extending it to use the microSD card as ILDrive? Is there any chance you plan to offer these for sale? --Bob Prosperi |

RE: 2015 rebuild of the HP-IL CMT display
Hi Patrick
Congratulation for this IL display. It looks great. Better than the original :-) The hardware you use is also very interesting. At the moment I implement a Java version of ilper, ildrive and ildisp. The goal is to build an Android version. Finally the Windows Java version runs at the moment! Now the hard part, the FDTI interface in the Android environment… After that, you can implement the Bluetooth interface :-) Best regards Tobie |

If someone wants to create a more production friendly PilBox Shield (with the agreement of J-F Garnier) then this will be an easy path (and of course I can help on that). Tobie's smartphone solution is certainly the best alternative (By the way, thanks Tobie for the work, I' waiting for that). Regarding the microSD, I will work on it as soon as the libraries will be available on mbed. Patrick |
