Received mine. What a wonderful little machine.
I never fully realized nor appreciated how small it is!

Love it!

Thanks, Jim!

Hi Jim,
I just stumbled upon your amazing project today. I assume way to late... But hope dies last: do you still have kits or assembled units available? Can I still order? If YES, what would be the costs for an assembled one vs. a kit (incl. shipping to Switzerland)?
Thanks & cheers, Markus

Hi Markus:
No, not late at all. I have plenty of pc boards, components and, most importantly, displays. Can probably build another 50 units, or ship in kit form. I have several kits I can ship out quickly. Assembled units may take a few days.

. assembled units are US$40, kits are US$30. Remember all prices are in U.S. dollars.
. shipping for U.S. is $3, USD, rest of the world is $8.
. enter your shipping name and address via paypal.

* I will acknowledge with a post in this thread instead of replying individual PMs / emails. I'll send information on my PayPal account in a private email to you.
Cheers! Jim J.

Oh, that's great news! (Almost like Christmas :-D )
Then I'd like to order both: an assembled unit and a kit (I'd like to diy, but I don't fully trust my skills yet). Do I need to provide you with my email address via PM?
Thanks a lot!
Markus

Yes, we shall roll while them bubble leds lasts. I am not making them anymore, Jim should have some kits available.

There seems to be replenishing stock from pimoroni. I check a month ago and there were no pack of 5 left. Now there are 100+ modules. I don't think they will last long though.

Hi Jim,
I got your delivery today. That was fast! :-D Thanks a lot for your letter and instructions. The assembled calculator is sooo great and I totally admire your soldering skills. I'll TRY to get somewhere near when I will be working on the kit....
Again: Thanks a lot for your great work and perfect service!
Cheers,
Markus

Hello Sans...I still have over 40 kits and/or assembled NP-25 calculator units. I've replied to you with the details in a PM. Prices are still $40.00 (USD) assembled and $30.00 kit form, plus shipping.
Cheers!

RE: HP-25C Eumulator
Just began to make a new batch of NP25 pcb calculators. Assembled $40.00 USD. Kit $30.00 USD. Shipping is extra for either one. I located another source of HP displays so I should be good for awhile (until this source runs out). I have limited number of pc boards before I'll need to order more. Just respond in a PM and we can exchange shipping info.
Cheers!
Jim J.
P.S. For those of you who will attend HHC2016, I plan on being there again and will sell the NP25 there as well and you can save the shipping charges (only $3 in the U.S.)

RE: HP-25C Eumulator
Hi Chris,
First of all, congratulations for the great job you have done, the NP25C seems to be the most competitive RPN calculator in price terms, doesn't it?
Have you ever thought about having white letters over a black silkscreen background? IMHO, it could improve legibility and 'cosmetics'. Although the latter is a subjective point, such a black NP25C would get a closer look to the HP25C.
Bedides, what about a font type à la HP25C?
Sorry if I have missed any discussions/posts about these points in the forum.

RE: HP-25C Eumulator
Hi Luigi,
I'm the "caretaker" for the NP25 project. Chris left it as an open project so I am ordering parts and assembling the NP25's. I certainly can order black pcb's with white lettering if there is interest. I think the font is rather limited on what some of the pcb manufacturers can do. I can explore that further. I think Chris has addressed fonts in an earlier thread. Chris may want to chime in with his experience.
Cheers!

Thanks Jim for your prompt reply.
I thought PCB manufacturers allowed to provide the silkscreen as a bitmap.
I have been browsing some Web pages, and it seems white text on black background has no real benefit over the black-on-white option. It must be just my personal preference.

RE: HP-25C Eumulator
Hi Luigi....I'm using the same pcb layout program that Chris Chung used; Fritzing. It's a nice (free) program, but it's not as powerful as Eagle, Proteus or Altium. I did some poking around in Fritzing and noticed that you can upload "images" for the silkscreen area. I haven't played with this, but there's probably no reason why you couldn't create an image of the HP25 lettering and upload the images, placing them on the proper areas near the buttons and use a black pcb. I'll play around some more with it. If someone on the forum knew where I could get an image of the HP25 function lettering on a flat pdf or PowerPoint file, I may be able to capture those and imbed them into the Gerber file for the NP25. No promises....I do have a regular day job and this is just a hobby for me. ;-)
