Will these reports be openly shared in public?
I supposed they must be sent to SM. Anyway, you, beta testers, will play a key role in this piece of RPN history. Thank you. Saludos Saluti Cordialement Cumprimentos MfG BR + + + + + Luigi Vampa + Free42 '<3' I + + |

DM42
Overall impressions: awesome, impressive and outstanding. Display: gorgeous, great resolution. Keyboard: nice feeling but keys need in my opinion to be softer and sometimes if key presses are too fast numbers are lost. Feel in hand: sturdy and consistent. Being this Swissmicros first batch I just can say they did a superb job. Regards |

I've got a 41L and 16L, and they're very nice, but the keyboard is a little stiffer than I'd like. How does it compare to the previous models? Does anybody have the means of creating pressure graphs for various models (HP and otherwise) like those seen here? http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/mechanical-keyboard-guide |

"TOP.FCN" replaced by "SETUP" That's cute because A: Top functions are always available B: No need to remember not obvious keystrokes for setup! 2. Print does nothing. When "PRUSER" or "PRP" the printing symbol flashes for a moment. (82240B) 3. Did not find an option for printing to screen 4. In Alpha-Mode haven't found a way to put in numbers 5. Would like an option to set the time at 24h display Günter |

RE: DM 42 - say it ain't so, Joe...
Got my unit and not only looks gorgeous but the keys feel just about right pressure and tactile feeling. If you want this baby to last for, say 10 years, then you don't want it any softer than it is. If I were to be picky on the cosmetics I'd like a bolder font, this one is rather small for my eyes.
But - and this is perplexing and saddening simultaneously - try this (which was my *very first calculation* on the machine ! 1, ENTER^, 0 COMPLEX SIN, COS , TAN ATAN, ACOS ,ASIN do you see the same I do??? It returns -1 (!!!) Sure we all know about the multi-valued functions but this is not at play here since the argument and all intermediate results are within the main branch of the functions. Indeed both the real 42 and Free42 return the correct value, which is obviously +1 So.... I'm hoping a firmware update will take care of this one soon - this bug is too loud to turn a deaf ear on it. Somebody pls. say this is an operator error... not! "To live or die by your own sword one must first learn to wield it aptly." |

The error comes when taking the ATAN, which gives an imaginary component of -3.5x10^-34, which then changes the ACOS to negative and the ASIN to negative. |

I remember about 8 years ago (while working on the 41Z project) I corresponded w/ Thomas about this issue and he agreed it wasn't the correct result and sent me an update... maybe it was never turned into the "official" code? Interested to see how will this one be dealt with now. BTW the 15C and the 15C-LE both return +1 in case you had doubts... "To live or die by your own sword one must first learn to wield it aptly." |

There are 2 flavors of Free42 for Windows, binary and decimal. I just checked the binary version returns "1" while the decimal-version returns "-1" as does Free42 on my Android devices. From the Free42-Readme:"Free42 Decimal uses the Intel Decimal Floating-Point Math Library" I think the DM42 also uses this library, perhaps this explains something, I don't know what is correct.
