New RPL for 39GS
I have recently acquired a 39GS for very little money from China. Now I am wondering if anyone has managed to successfully run new RPL on a 39GS and if so, where can I download the firmware?
Cheers, Harald |

RE: New RPL for 39GS
Thanks for the pointing me in the right direction!
Now I have a new problem. I downloaded the connectivity kit for the 39gs from the HP website. The newest version is for Win XP 32 bit. I have Win8 and apparently that is unhappy with the drivers. Any Ideas? Has anyone succesfully flashed from Win8? Cheers, Harald |

Alas it is @home... and don't remember now where I found it. If nobody gives you the right link I can search this evening. Greetings, Massimo -+×÷ ↔ left is right and right is wrong |

Unfortunatelly I get the same helpfull message saying "installation failed" when trying to install those USB drivers. Did you disable the check for unsigned drivers? By default Win 8.x and 10 won't let you install drivers that aren't signed. You can defeat this, however: Disable Signed Driver Enforcement Tom L Cui bono? |

And unfortunately the guide in your link does not help me at all doing it. Apparently the German Windows has a completely different menu structure :-| So I will need to hunt down a German guide... |

RE: New RPL for 39GS
Thanks to Claudio for this tool, it is fabulous, recently I installed newRPL on my HP 39gs and I am getting used to its operation, but I do not know how to transfer files from the PC to the calculator. I suppose you can install applications and programs from the HP 50g in the HP 39gs because they are compatible at the RPL level, but how are they copied to the HP 39gs? The connectivity kit of the HP 39gs I managed to install in windows 10 but does not recognize the calculator with the newRPL already installed. I tried to use the newRPL virtual calculator from HP 39 but I do not know if it is useful to transfer the files to the physical calculator or how it is done. Could you give me a light in this regard? Thank you...

Thank you... Here: http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-9700.html Connect the Desktop to your calc (pretty intuitive, just select from the list and done). Then the post above has some description of the commands you can use to send stuff over the wire (look at the notes for build 1001) If you can't see your calc on the connect dialog box, check out the wiki for USB setup required on all OSes except Windows. |
