New "Old" Member
Hello:
I was an early member of the old forum, does everyone have to re-register? When did the switch over to this system take place? I am listed as a junior member? What are the "ranks"? How do I become un-junior? John |

RE: New "Old" Member
Hello John,
and welcome to the new forum:-) Yes, we all had to re-register, so you have a login for the old and another login for the new forum. However the old forum has become part of the forum archives, so you should use the new forum. "Ranks" I've seen so far: Junior: 1 -49 posts Member: 50 - 200? Senior: 200? - ?? Administrator: Dave Hicks Super Moderator: Katie and Dennis (and maybe some other I don't RCL currently) I don't know whether Dave assigned normal moderators so far. -- Ray |

RE: New "Old" Member
I was also wondering what constituted a 'Junior' vs full member... It is entirely based on one's level of participation in the new forum. I will not, however, be tempted to start a series a one-liner discussions simply to get my count up to 50 (currently at 35).
Speaking of members, has the new forum has in some way discouraged the participation of some of the regular contributors over the past decade? Also, do you find the nature of the discussions in general to be different? Is there less participation (it would so appear)? Jeff |

There's more segmentation on the new forum which may reduce the number of occasional readers (it will definitivly not increase it) and thus drive participation down. OTOH, such a segmentation was wanted by forumers before. The only "regular" I miss so far is Karl Schneider (but I missed him in the old forum already). Any information about his whereabouts? d:-/ |

RE: New "Old" Member
Is that right? I thought I was on the old forum going back to the 1990s.
Is there an archive of old posts from that old forum? FYI, I sold these calcs 84-86 while working my way through undergrad at UC Berkeley. worked at the school store. $5.15/hour. Hooked on the old hp. Use a 41CV with double speed mod which I did myself. 71B with translator pac & CMT 32K RAM. That is my favorite. and 48GX with 1MB ram & finance pac. Pluse the IL Peripherals. and an HP 110+. Still have the 1994 Silver Spirit. This is us: http://www.vulture-capital.net JK in LA |

2006 is not correct. I have posts up there going to 2004 & I think much older. I would like to determine when I joined here. I bought the old manuals twice, first time on all those CDRs.
