Hi all,
Almost there, just have to check the battery charger. The LED display will give an indication when the battery is being charged.
Edit.
Just added an image showing the USB cable connected which is running the calculator and charging the battery. Charge indication is the mantissa sign digit, segment D lit.

The cpu board does not use a step up voltage circuit. It was designed for the small LiPo battery which outputs around 4V, 800mAh, model No. 802540.

Hi all,
A bit of a mishap. I manage to accidently short the circuit board while fiddling with it and got a few puffs of smoke and a dead board. I rebuilt a new one and while fiddling some more, the board stopped responding to the communications channel. Then it worked, but the re-flash failed. It is a bit frustrating trying to figure out the problem, new board, bad part, solder joint, software bug etc etc.
After some more fiddling, it turned out the battery was discharged enough to get the processor to reset occasionally. What threw me was the display was still working. Then I thought: why wasn't the low battery indicator working. It was just a tweak of the programmable reference setting.
Anyway, the battery was put on charge and it now works. The charge LED shows through the main display window.
I added a printer interface to the 29C model which sends print data to the PC via Bluetooth and the CalCom program will print the info using the original printer font style similar to the 19C. You can also print a hard copy as well.
The attached image shows Dave Eatons USB cable plugged into the Woodstock charger port and the print output of a small running program.
Hopefully just some final testing then done.

Hi all,
I added a Black Jack (aka 21) game to the Woodstock CPU board. It might while away an hour or two of otherwise boredom. Pesky processor thinks it can win all the time, but it can't :-)
I have just put it back on charge after 2 weeks of almost daily development time.

Hi all,
I got a game similar to Tetris going on the Woodstock board too.
It's probably the first time ever that a Woodstock has played the Tetris tune :-)
It's a bit squeaky because of the tiny Piezo transducer but the notes and timing are correct, and of course, it can be turned off.

That'd be cool, but I don't think the little peeper of a sound generator would do it justice, probably like Hendrix on a ukulele :-)

A steep hill to be sure, I'll assume the folks making the sound generator never imagined such a challenge. As for music, I'd probably prefer Hendrix on a ukulele over much of today's music. Gotta run, I need to go tell some kids to get off my lawn...

WOW!!
I've been following this thru its gestation, but honestly missed or forgotten some of the features, or some smaller details of features, but this is quite amazing, Tony, very well done!!
A couple questions:
A. Why does the 25C support fewer program files than the 29C? Given the same platform, one would think they could support the same. Unless simply because the 25C was less capable than a 29C and that's how things must be, which I could understand and support.
B. Can the original power adapter be used to charge the LiPo battery and operate the device?
C. Does the new battery fit in an original, or 3D printed equivalent, battery pac?
D. Purpose of new GSB 49 instruction?
E. It appears installation consists of simply opening the unit, replacing the old board with the new one, and reassembling, is that correct?
Looking forward to one of these...
