The difference between a fool and a genius is that that the latter has limits and Tony's doesn't appear to have any RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-09-2019 12:40 PM (11-09-2019 11:02 AM)Paul Dale Wrote: Nope, definitely not a genius. The difference between a fool and a genius is that that the latter has limits and Tony's doesn't appear to have any As Clint Eastwood said .... :-) I'd actually put myself on a lesser par with Bernhard and some earlier achievers. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-14-2019 11:03 AM Hi all, Some more progress. Here is the HP-65 CPU board almost populated with a little test wire hanging in the breeze. All power supplies work ok, Battery 3.7-4.5V. Volts out are 8V, 6V, 5V and 3.3V. Most software has been written, bugs are next. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-17-2019 05:13 AM Hi all, Happy today :-) The classic display drivers have responded nicely to my new single processor interface. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - Harald - 11-17-2019 10:43 PM (11-17-2019 05:13 AM)teenix Wrote: Hi all, Great, looks like your plan has worked! Did you try the decimal points? RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-17-2019 10:53 PM (11-17-2019 10:43 PM)Harald Wrote: Great, looks like your plan has worked! Did you try the decimal points? Yes, all good. I had the test LED across a cathode driver output and it flashed quite bright at first switch on. After a few hours of playing around I figured out the problem and it doesn't light at all now except for a faint glow which looks like normal operation. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-18-2019 04:18 AM Hi all, Quite a bit to go with CPU board but looking good so far:-) cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - albertofenini - 11-18-2019 07:12 AM WOW, Just wow !!! Congratulations !!! RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-19-2019 04:28 AM Hi all, The HP65 CPU board seems to be running ok. The display, keyboard and PRGM/RUN switch are working and it will accept and run programs. The PC program connects to it and transfers information back and forth. The calculator menu is working and I can use it to load and save program cards plus set operating options from the keyboard. Next is the CRC stuff for the card reader. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - Harald - 11-19-2019 01:09 PM (11-19-2019 04:28 AM)teenix Wrote: Hi all, Great! You are making good progress! I'll dig out a 65 and prepare for a board RE: HP97 The journey begins - albertofenini - 11-19-2019 01:56 PM Hi Tony, both the HP-65 and HP-67 replacement boards are spectacular, are these available for sale ? take care Alberto RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-19-2019 02:12 PM (11-19-2019 01:09 PM)Harald Wrote: Great! The 67 appears to work ok but a bug exists in the card read that I haven't sorted yet. If you consider the complexity of PIC machine code emulating HP microcode and the CRC chip while trying to capture data as the card whizzes through the reader... :-) Anyway, maybe I'm looking at the problem but can't see it so I put it aside for a bit and I'll have a go at the 65 for awhile. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - teenix - 11-20-2019 08:22 PM Hi all, Well it looks like the HP65 CPU board is behaving. All functions work and it now reads and writes cards :-) It also detects write protected cards which stops the write process and flags an error, but you can override this with a menu option and re-program those cards if required. Just to test the Bluetooth now and it should be good. cheers Tony RE: HP97 The journey begins - albertofenini - 11-20-2019 09:27 PM Very good !!! Congratulations for the excellent result !!! RE: HP97 The journey begins - Massimo Gnerucci - 11-20-2019 09:30 PM Very well done! Thank you Tony, RE: HP97 The journey begins - Paul Dale - 11-20-2019 11:02 PM That's an amazingly good result after the pain the 67 caused... Yes, I thought the 67 would be easier, but not the case. Now that the 65 is ticking over, I'll get back to find that (hopefully last) elusive bug. cheers Tony |
