Replacement for HP-71B Zebra strip? - MikeSD - 02-11-2018 04:21 PM

Has anyone found a replacement part that will substitute for the zebra strip between the two halves of a newer HP-71B? Surely there must be a way to make those connections using strips that's available today, for LCD and other uses.

Guess that's my task for the week. I did a quick search and there are products available, if they can be had in the right size. Just wondering if someone has already worked that problem. It would only be a fix for the plastic back 71B though.

Yes, a while back I investigated Fujipoly's Gold 8000 "golden zebras" and ordered a sample, but since I was small potatoes they were never sent.

Not long ago Mark Fleming sent me a flex to evaluate, but at that time we figured that $80 each was probably not cost effective.

The solution is to simply wire the two halves together. Look here.
