Just snagged a cheap Voyage200 (£44 delivered!) from a venezuelan TAS seller (books, box, hard cover , everything)
(He has more, I'll let you find him)

Just thought I'd have a backup at that price.

EDIT: Apparently there are a couple Venezuelan sellers , my supplier rhymes with convent

I've seen a Venezuelan seller with loads of 50g units as well but I've always hesitated buying from him fearing I'll be hit with massive import duty bills. Did you have to pay anything?

It’s what I thought too, but then I thought it would still be a decent price even if I had to pay duty etc., so I just took a reckless punt.

I’ve just looked at the DHL labels and paperwork and it was described as calculators declared value $19

You know, I've seen people mention TAS a few times, but I've no clue how to get there. Could someone enlighten me please?

TAS stands for The Auction Site which is eBay.

Yes a fantastic calculator. Few drawbacks:

Non RPN
A little big
Tiny fonts, but large screen.

I will search this seller, I have one, but a spare boxed is always good.

Thanks! I've never seen eBay referred to as TAS anywhere other than this forum. Is it common? Perhaps it belongs in The Jargon File!

For some reason on this forum TAS was a euphemism for eBay since references to eBay were discouraged. I would never say eBay since no one wants to hear eBay and if no one wants to hear eBay then far be it from me to say eBay so I won't ever say eBay. Nope, not eBay. eBay is not even in my vocabulary. If you try to get me to say eBay, you'll fail. I simply refuse to say eBay.

I chuckled at the last ebay part.

As far as I know linking ebay is not allowed if one wants to advertise his own auction, but mentioning the site is fine. There is at least one site that is not fine to mention for past legal discussions. A site about the hp 41 calculator.

"A little big" is a direct translation from a very common Portuguese expression that we, the Camões's language speakers, use when we want to say that a object is bigger than the average for that object class:
In Portuguese: "Um pouco grande"

I don't know the correct native English speakers equivalent idiomatic expression for that, though.

It's not really an idiomatic phrase, it's just general vocabulary and is the same in many languages:

en -- A little|bit big
fr -- un peu grand
es -- un poco|poquito grande
it -- un po grande
de -- ein Bisschen(*) groß
nl -- een beetje groot
Afrikaans -- 'n bietjie groot

(*) there is some debate as to whether it should be Bisschen with a capital B or just bisschen. "Ein Bisschen" is a noun that means "a little bite" and all nouns are written with capitals in German. However, in general usage many people use "bisschen" instead.

I bought a 50G from this guy, but DHL asked me 39€ as import duty.

Perhaps because the expression is equivalent to an adverb, if I were to guess.
