Riemann Hypothesis... proven !? - Ángel Martin - 09-25-2018 07:52 AM

For those interested int he subject - an amazing paper that may put the long-standing problem to rest; and it does it in a *very* uncanny way!

Here's an article on the subject that adds context:

Thanks for sharing. (we should really have a "thanks" button. Not a reputation / upvote button)

Don't think so.

Also, the Riemann Hypothesis is false so there's no way to prove it true, "uncanny" or not ... XD

Glad to see you posting and thanks for the laugh.

Hi, Thomas and Paul:

I have discovered a truly marvelous proof of this, which this post is too narrow to contain.
Also, do you really think I would give anyone any details of a solution worth US$ 1 million before collecting the prize myself ? Wink

Seriously, what part of "XD" you don't understand ? Smile

Anyway, the Riemann Hypothesis is indeed false so the "amazing paper" is anything but.

Because it is now the Riemann Theorem?

I couldn't say. I've never been in that position myself.
Grigori Perelman has, though.

I can't speak for Pauli, but I, for one, was at least hoping for a joke that was a bit more clever...

Doesn't that lie between XC and XE?

I'm met more than a few people over the years with strong convictions about the correctness of the Riemann Hypothesis.

Personally, I hope the proof is correct. At the moment there is a large gap that is as yet unpublished.

As far as I read on reddit the author of the proof, while he did a lot a great stuff in the past, is not in a not so clear state of mind. A bit like John Nash. In short collecting ideas but not assembling them properly.

Unfortunately it seems that organizers of various forums over the world just like to collect $$ at the price of one's reputation.

I mean give a problem a go (or even one thousand billion) is great, letting someone that has not a clear mind (although maybe still better than many of us, me included) talk is not respectful towards the person himself.
