2 x 2 Solve = 48gii Fail - ndzied1 - 04-24-2014 03:43 AM In helping my daughter check some homework, I was using a 48gii to solve systems of 2 equations with 2 unknowns. This one obviously has no solution but the 48gii says it does: \[8x+4y=-5 \\ 8x+4y=12\] The 48gii says the answer is \[ \begin{bmatrix} 0.35\\ 0.175 \end{bmatrix} \] Even my 35s says NO SOLUTION :-) RE: 2 x 2 Solve = 48gii Fail - Steve Keeley - 04-24-2014 05:00 AM The 50g gives the same result as the 48 (a 48GX in my case). My 42S gives a result of [ -8.5E12 1.7E13 ] The Prime, like the 35s, returns "No solutions" RE: 2 x 2 Solve = 48gii Fail - Manolo Sobrino - 04-24-2014 05:23 AM http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-665.html RE: 2 x 2 Solve = 48gii Fail - SlideRule - 04-24-2014 09:02 AM Maybe stating the obvious - BUT - NO Solution is interpreted as no Intersection solution as they are Parallel Lines.
