Hope you are all doing well and are not affected by the cold from the north?
Over Christmas I got a 16C. Soooo lucky…. :-)
But the main board is loosing contact at the left side, please see below.
Further, there is a spring in the middle?
Do you have an idea on how to fix this the smooth way?
I mean, in a way, that the adhesive is not affecting the keys…
Just have seen hints to take apart the 4 screws in the backside, but does this bring me to the board at the front, too?

Btw: the WP-34S gave me the possibilty to flash a HP-20b or 30b. So, if there is someone in the Aachen region, I would be glad to help out.

The faceplate is coming loose. Something like this can fix the problem.

Spring seems to be something like grounding / prevent ESD (IIRC)
Can be taken out if back is removed. An is lost easily.

Thank you very much! I had something in mind like that, but it requires to take apart the whole board, doesn't it? Incredible, this tape isn't available in the German Amazon store... Same is true with pink calculators for the girls, but from TI... :-)

Replacing the double-sided tape does require removal of the faceplate. This can be done easily using fine-tipped alcohol-soaked cotton swabs and a non-marring prying tool like an orangewood stick. The orangewood sticks are available at most beauty supply stores.
This tape looks similar to the B-7010.

Thank you sooo much Dave, you really saved my 16C for the next decades. :-)
Now, there is just the app missing, the 12C, 12CP and 15C habe one, but the 16C is still missing.
