Casio FX-1000f vs Casio FX-5000f - Moggul - 02-01-2020 10:33 PM Although I switched to RPN HPs as soon as I could, I remember using a Casio FX-1000f during my school days. I loved the formula library and overall it performed quite well. So I am searching for one and I see two similar models, the FX-1000f and the FX-5000f. Does anyone know the differences between them? RE: Casio FX-1000f vs Casio FX-5000f - Mjim - 02-01-2020 11:33 PM According to ledudu, it's just the addition of hyperbolic functions (and their inverse): https://casio.ledudu.com/pockets.asp?type=154&lg=eng I'm kind of curious as to why the addition of hyperbolic function was such a big feature at the time that they changed the shape of the calculator (The 5000F is a flatter calculator) and gave it a new model name. My calculator had a folding wallet so it must have benn a 5000f. My memory is a bit hazy after 30+ years... I only have the 5000F, but it also shares a manual, with the 1000F and, again, the only differences I can see are added hyperbolics and the thickness/angle. A pattern emerges… |
