Weird Issue with Solve Function - Solver - 03-26-2020 07:36 PM So this is how the problem should look and the answer as well: https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=solve%28%5Bx*y%5E3%3D10%5E11%2C%28x%5E2%29%2Fy%3D10%5E8%5D%2C%5Bx%2Cy%5D%29 When I type this into the Prime though, I get nothing. Just the dreaded [[]]. Trying to graph the two equations gives the yellow exclamation mark before going into the graphing screen with nothing on it. RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - roadrunner - 03-27-2020 12:50 AM Change your plot setting to this: [attachment=8259] and you should get this: [attachment=8260] -road RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - roadrunner - 03-27-2020 01:12 AM And if you modify your second equation slightly you get: [attachment=8261] I'm not sure why your original form doesn't work. -road RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - Tim Wessman - 03-27-2020 01:22 AM Have a value stored for x or y? RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - roadrunner - 03-27-2020 01:38 AM Nope: [attachment=8262] RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - Solver - 03-27-2020 04:53 AM Thanks roadrunner! Hopefully this is not a bug. (03-27-2020 01:22 AM)Tim Wessman Wrote: Have a value stored for x or y? Yeah, I don't have a value stored either. RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - parisse - 03-27-2020 07:42 AM Indeed, bug confirmed and fixed. RE: Weird Issue with Solve Function - Jan 11 - 03-27-2020 11:13 AM This is more difficult. We're dealing with big numbers. Others tried to solve this case before me. I've also tried to solve this system of equations. I did it by looking for an approximation (lower boundary, upper boundary). See it in the screenshots. HP PRIME is a very powerful calculator. It solves almost every equation, inequality, equation system. But if there are problems, the outstanding Parisse will fix it quickly.
