Spreadsheet App question - how do I delete a column name ? - Michael de Estrada - 06-04-2014 12:40 AM

I have a saved spreadsheet where I named several columns, and now I want to delete the names and revert to the default names, ie. A,B,C etc. I can change the names easily enough, but there doesn't any way to delete them. If I attempt to enter the original names such as A,B,C etc, or if I attempt to delete the current name and enter a blank line I get an error message "invalid input". I can delete the spreadsheet, but cannot reset it. Any ideas ?

Tried entering no (empty) name? (dont have anything handy at the moment, but that would be my guess)

Not sure what you mean, but it won't accept a blank name.

Edit, I just figured it out. You just highlight the cell and hit backspace.

hello,

> How do I 'erase' a cell/ row/ column name
select the cell, do Format / Name / backspace / OK and the name will be erased and you will get back the original cell/ row/ column name.

No, this does not work. It leaves the name unchanged. However, if I simply select that particular cell and hit the backspace key it does work.
