Invalid Card Data startup error on HP48G - sharklodon - 10-29-2020 07:15 PM

Hi,
On my HP48G (not GX), message "Invalid Card Data" is Displayed when the Calculator is Turned On.
I tried to fix it with PINIT command, but it doesn't happens, and message is displayed again.

Any way to fix it?

Thanks,
Shark

Sorry, original reply was about using cards, it seems your quite clear 'not a GX' comment was not clear enough the first time through.

I think Mark's comments are the most likely cause.

Any chance your 48g was modified to expand the main memory? I vaguely remember instructions to replace the main RAM chip or add another, hence the 48 may think it has a memory expansion card. Check using the MEM command.

A hard reset may also recover, but you'd lose what you have in memory.

What do you see when you run the self test described in appendix A of the manual?
