Hi everyone,
this is one of our last projects, we thought someone may find interesting the pictures,
you never know, may be there are internal details that could be interesting for someone and you don't see pictured everyday
We have ordered a 3M biadhesive and we will try to use it for the back label rather than the usual spray glue
in future we will start to repair the rest of our pieces, so there will be more to see
and we will have more to ask

Which 3M adhesive? Can you post how effective it is, especially if the label has to be removed again :-)

it should be here on Wednesday
It’s 0,2 mm thick and 38 mm high so that it will be a single piece for each label
We usually leave it in a grip overnight
Instructions claims this is very strong so will see it and we will update the post

I was thinking of photo adhesive which allows photos to stick, but can be peeled off if required. I haven't tried it, but I thought using it on back labels, they might stay put but come off easily if required.

Here we go !
The tape arrived today
It is 38 mm high which means that for an HP65 or HP67 only a single piece is needed
This is good because it is more efficient
We have cut a piece of plastic the exact size of the “tray” where the label goes
This is needed when we put the chassis under pressure overnight
On the inside two water bottle caps help to distribute pressure in an homogeneous way
The assembly is then put between two pieces of wood for the night
3M claims that best results are obtained if the temperature is between 40 and 50 Celsius degree
We skipped that part ... so will see tomorrow morning
We first have put the tape on the calc
Using an exacto knife the adhesive has been cut to the exact size
Then label applied
using the plastic shape and some soft cotton an homogeneous pressure have applied
It doesn’t look bad at all but the last word can only be said tomorrow

It looks like you have enough adhesive for quite a few repairs...

you are right ... but we have few units to re-label as well

Hi everyone
A night and a day have passed and this is the final result
It’s pretty awesome although it must said that the label was in very good condition
Compared with the spray glue this method is easier and cleaner
We think is probably easier to remove the label if ever needed again
Now we must see how reliable and long lasting is going to be
It would be better to heat the surface up to 50 Celsius degrees in order to catalyze the glue
The four last added picture show the final result
