10C Repair - mmcgaha - 05-11-2021 06:22 PM I have two 10Cs that are acting up. The first one is fine until I fill the screen with numbers and then various segments across the screen fade. The second one shows a brief PR Error when I put in batteries, but it quickly fades to nothing. Both machines were working the last time I used them (10 or so years ago), but one would dim the LCD slightly when I pressed a key. Does anyone have any info or links on repairing these issues? Off hand, it seems like a power supply issue, most likely caused by corrosion somewhere, but may be a faulty component inside. An internal inspection should find the corrosion or wiggling the board(s) to see if a connector is playing up. If the main chip is faulty, I don't know how available they are and if they can be replaced. cheers Tony |
