Trivial integral substitution quirk - dah145 - 06-29-2021 04:48 PM The indefinite integral of (4/x^5)*cos((1/x^4)-6) is returned unevaluated while for the simpler case of (4/x^5)*cos(1/x^4) it is evaluated without issues. Image attached to demonstrate what I mean. RE: Trivial integral substitution quirk - rawi - 06-30-2021 03:03 AM I tried it as well with the same results. The CAS-systems of TI (both nspire and ti 89 titanium) and casio (PC Software of Classpad II) solve both integrals without any problems. RE: Trivial integral substitution quirk - robmio - 06-30-2021 07:04 AM Hi, if you press "simplify", the integral is solved. Sincerely, Robmio RE: Trivial integral substitution quirk - dah145 - 06-30-2021 03:35 PM (06-30-2021 07:04 AM)robmio Wrote: Hi, if you press "simplify", the integral is solved. Now, that's funny. Thanks! RE: Trivial integral substitution quirk - parisse - 07-01-2021 07:05 PM I made a fix in giac source code (https://github.com/geogebra/giac/commit/53f1931bab45be47d1fd7b0ceffad1975563e66d) ... but I have no idea when it will be available on the Prime. |
