I’m figuring the trig functions user R9 as a working register. Are there other functions that use R9?

Matt, a 10 second google search would have provided you with the HP-65 owners manual, containing the answers to most of your HP-65 questions.

All I suggest is making sure you check proper sources that are easily found first.
Phrase your question more like this:
The HP-65 manual says that R9 is used for XYZ. Did PPC or other users ever find out if anything else disturbs R9? If so, I'd love to read about it if anyone can point me to the proper issue and article.
