HP-35 in FPGA - Ren - 10-20-2021 07:52 PM Hackaday's upcoming Remoticon has a speaker, Rob Weinstein, who will describe how he duplicated the functions of the HP-35 in FPGA using the original patent? (I hope I got that right) https://hackaday.com/2021/10/14/these-first-remoticon-speakers-are-just-a-taste-of-whats-to-come/ I didn't see his name when I searched this website; is he here? (Is he banished? shudder!) RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Alejandro Paz(Germany) - 10-24-2021 06:31 AM Ohhh, very interesting. I'm looking forward to his talk. There is another very interesting talk about the SkyWater kit... RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Rob W - 11-30-2021 09:17 PM Hi, That was my presentation at Remoticon 2021. I hope you liked it. I had some technical issues with the presentation, namely Zoom wouldn't see my webcam and in the resulting panic, I shared my presenters view instead of the slideshow view. Other than that, it seemed to go okay. Here's a link to a short video about the final calculator: https://vimeo.com/648116637 I'm told that the Hackaday folks will be publishing the individual presentations on Youtube, a couple each week. I'll post a link when it's available. I'm happy to answer questions, let me know. Thanks, -Rob RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Thomas Klemm - 03-05-2022 11:01 AM Link to the start of the presentation at 5:13:15. Repository: patently-obvious That was an excellent presentation I really enjoyed. Thanks very much! Cheers Thomas RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Sylvain Cote - 03-05-2022 12:25 PM Wow! that was a super great presentation. With the level of research that you did and the details you put into this project, I am amazed that it only took you 750 hours to complete it. Thank you very much for doing it and for sharing it. Sylvain RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Rob W - 03-08-2022 12:08 AM Thanks for the nice comments! Regarding the time I spent, 750 hours was just the research and initial Verilog design and simulation. I spent another ~750 hours on designing and building the working replica. -Rob RE: HP-35 in FPGA - agarza - 03-09-2022 05:59 PM (11-30-2021 09:17 PM)Rob W Wrote: Hi, I am really impressed! It's incredible the amount of work/research you have done. Congrats! RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Rob W - 04-12-2022 02:06 PM Hi, I promised I'd post a link to the Hackaday article when it became available: Remoticon 2021 // Rob Weinstein Builds an HP-35 from the Patent Up by Chris Lott Thanks, -Rob RE: HP-35 in FPGA - Ren - 04-12-2022 05:38 PM Thanks Rob W. I have given up Hackaday for Lent, so I probably would have missed the article! |
