HP's got a new font... - Liam Hays - 04-21-2022 12:51 AM

...not like it really matters, but I was checking out hp.com the other day (as I occasionally do) and I noticed that everything uses some new font. Personally, I think it looks a little more professional than that one they used before---I always felt that the old font seemed a little childish.

More interesting, though, is this: (hoping the attachment renders)
[attachment=10615]

If that looks familiar, that's because you saw it on hp.com/calculators! When the new site went live some months back, I commented on the use of the "Learn" button. It was explained to me that they use that button because it is easily localized, but it seems like it might be company policy as well.

Just kind of an interesting connection I thought I'd share.

Downloadable fonts are one of the wonders of the modern web, but because they often come from third parties (like many features of the modern web) you're at risk for data collection, and there have been numerous instances of security exploits using fonts. So I tell Firefox never to ever download or use web fonts, and just use my system fonts. Which means I'd completely miss something like this! ;^)

Thanks for the thread.
