HP 35 hardware in depth analysis - ThomasWendl - 01-26-2023 04:39 PM Maybe this website might be helpfull for somebody? https://archived.hpcalc.org/laporte/HW%20Exploration.htm Regards Thomas RE: HP 35 hardware in depth analysis - Harald - 01-28-2023 08:52 PM Yes, it was very helpful for the work Tony and I did on the replacement board for the classic calculators. I based the interface to the original display drivers on Jacques work. Very sad he isn't around to see them results anymore. RE: HP 35 hardware in depth analysis - brouhaha - 01-28-2023 09:46 PM I worked closely with Jacques on reverse-engineering the instruction set of the HP-67/97 CRC (Card Reader Controller) chip. His work on documenting the algorithms of the HP-35 was excellent. From other sources we already knew on a rudimentary level how the HP-35 worked, but he uncovered and documented all of the details. I miss him very much. RE: HP 35 hardware in depth analysis - teenix - 01-28-2023 11:06 PM Reading Jacques' notes inspired me to try and add a bit more in my Classic Notes file. cheers Tony RE: HP 35 hardware in depth analysis - Rob W - 01-31-2023 01:14 PM Jacques Laporte's website was an inspiration and an invaluable source of knowledge for my HP-35 reverse engineering presentation at Hackaday's Remoticon 2021. In fact, everyone who replied above me in this thread falls into that category. Thanks everyone! -Rob |
