Is it possible to see the steps when simplifying or solving an equation?

Thank your for your reply, Eddie.

A pity. I understand that the requirements for this should be available. There just seems to be no implementation then.

I tried a Ti CX2 that can do it. But I could never get used to the terribly cumbersome handling of the Ti. The HP is literally "prime" for me in terms of usability and interface.

You could turn simplification to Minimum ( CAS -settings - Simplify:Minimum), then use simplify command to do it further.
