Replacement HP-67 Keyboard Springs - DaveDC - 09-16-2023 01:15 AM

Hi All:

First time member, long time lurker.

I just rehabilitated an HP-67 with a new battery pack and card reader roller. The repairs went great, but now I noticed that two of the keys (1 and 2) have cracks in their return springs. The keys work, but they don't have the nice crisp feel of the others.

Has anyone ever tried to replace a keyboard spring plate and if so, are replacement plates available? It seems that it would be simple enough to laser cut or water jet a replacement plate, but before I go down that path I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has investigated this already.

Thanks in advance for any info.
DC

I listed a procedure for replacing the strips on page 50 of my Classic Notes PDF, but you need a donor strip for the replacement though.

I was looking into a complete board replacement, but they would be expensive.

cheers
