Seeking VIC-20 key stem - JoeG - 10-24-2023 05:26 PM

I acquired yet another VIC-20 that works just fine. The only minor issue is the left arrow key on the upper left of the keyboard has a broken key stem. I actually had to knock out the broken part by using a bolt and a hammer. Something had it really stuck in there. The kind of key stem it has is different from the C64 keyboard. I've attached some photos of the broken key stem and a working key stem.

If you know of a source to acquire this kind of VIC-20 key stem, please let me know.

Joe

Thank you. I did look at those earlier, but they appear to be for C64 and other VIC 20 keyboards that use a key stem with two contact points instead of the one, which is what I have. I don't know if they are interchangeable.

I don't have a VIC so can't say for sure but the photo you posted looks like their 'VIC "Type 4" Plunger and Spring - Early Type" at the very bottom of the page.

Thank you!

After looking again, I think you're right!

I ordered 2.
