Can't update G2 firmware - Connectivity Kit doesn't see calculator - MikeSD - 12-29-2023 06:12 PM I'm using a Dell, PC with Windows, with i7 processor. Can't update G2 firmware - Connectivity Kit doesn't see calculator. I've installed the latest 64 bit connectivity kit. It asked if I wanted to download the latest firmware. I did. I can see the firmware is in the location it's supposed to be.. I connected the prime G2, to the PC, by USB. But when I click update Calculator, it sayss "no calculator connected" I've checked the device manager and don't see any issues with USB Any secret tricks to getting this to work? RE: Can't update G2 firmware - Connectivity Kit doesn't see calculator - MikeSD - 12-29-2023 06:30 PM Well this is odd... Answering my own question. I just realized that my PC isn't giving me the tone, when I connect a USB device. So I suspected there might be something wrong with the cable that came with the G2. So, I got a different cable, plugged it in, and when I ran the CK, it immediately asked if I wanted to update. It updated just fine. Looks like the G2 cable that came with the calc, was bad. I can now see the display on the calc has changed and I have Python installed, which wasn't there before. Update: Looks like the latest version is buggy. About 1 minute after installing the update, it locked up the calculator. I had to do a reset, and it reverted back to the previous version. I had to update it again. The second update seemed to go ok and I'm back to where I was. Now, to find a good tutorial on the G2. The PC is a few years old Lenovo, and this applies to the last generation G1, and the G2. |
