I've ported CHIP-8 to the Swissmicros DM41X hardware which I demonstrate in the following video with some existing game ROMs.

Now compiled for the DM42 with appropriate adjustments to keyboard mapping (shown in startup screen and video).

Amazing! I love the idea of that platform - somehow limitations seem to produce better things. Last weekend I was at an Amiga meet up, someone there was and still is very much into the demoscene. I think chip-8 was where the game Celeste originated on? Not sure how that would run on my DM42.

I just had a look at PICO-8 and it lists CHIP-8 as a predecessor.
PICO-8 has colour and probably a number of other features over CHIP-8 as it was released in 2015.
Thanks for the pointer, I will look further into PICO-8 and available emulators.
