HP12C x><y Key - Powa - 06-14-2024 03:46 AM The x><y key on the HP12C calculator has the same function in white and in blue. In other words, the primary function of the key is to swap the x and y registers. If you press g shift key, you get the same function in blue. Why does this key have the same function twice? RE: HP12C x><y Key - rprosperi - 06-14-2024 11:13 AM They are not the same: Unshifted: This swaps the X and Y registers g-shifted: This is a conditional test, used in programs. It does the test "If X is less than or equal to Y is true then continue with the next instruction; if not true, the skip the next instruction and continue with the following one". The labels simply look similar but if you look closely, you'll see the difference. RE: HP12C x><y Key - Powa - 06-14-2024 11:58 AM Thanks Bob, now I see that they are indeed different. I haven't got to the programming bit yet. RE: HP12C x><y Key - rprosperi - 06-15-2024 01:21 AM (06-14-2024 11:58 AM)Powa Wrote: Thanks Bob, now I see that they are indeed different. RE: HP12C x><y Key - Powa - 06-17-2024 04:38 AM Will get there eventually! (I hope). |
