82162A printer help - Bballreich - 06-21-2024 11:11 PM Hello HP users. First time on this forum. I recently purchased a HP 41 CX and it came with a 82162A printer. The printer looks in good shape but came with no cables. What would I need to do to bring this printer back to life? I haven't received it yet so I am unsure if there are any batteries in the compartment but I doubt it. Do I have to have the HP-IL module or would the cable and module from a 82143A work? Thanks for the knowledge! RE: 82162A printer help - rprosperi - 06-22-2024 02:26 AM Welcome to the MoHPC Forum. You will need an HP-82160A HP-IL Interface to access any HP-IL peripherals, there are no other options. The 82143A printer is hard-wired with a cable that plugs into one of the 41's ports and is not compatible with HP-IL at all, though the printer itself is very similar (the print head and mechanism are in fact the same). Good luck! RE: 82162A printer help - Bballreich - 06-22-2024 03:50 AM Thank you very much for the information. I really appreciate it! RE: 82162A printer help - rprosperi - 06-23-2024 09:04 PM Here is an HP-IL Module, needed for connecting HP-IL peripherals to an HP-41. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186513055952 Price is reasonable (neither highest or lowest I've seen in last 6 months) so seems seller is watching the market. If interested, I'd send an offer for $100, expect a counter at $110 and then decide. Good luck |
