Chinas first graphical calculator - Karl-Ludwig Butte - 09-12-2024 11:11 AM

Dear All,

I'm visiting China at the moment and found a website reporting about Chinas first graphical calculator. After translating the chinese charachters into German with the help of an online translator, I learned that it was developed by Noahs Arch in Shenzen and presented in Beijing Dec. 24th, 2007. The report said, that it passed the exam of the central e-learning-center of the ministry of education.

Teachers were full of praise that they don‘t need foreign products any longer.

I tried to find a picture of the calculator, because the report doesn't have any but couldn't find one. I tried to find more information in English with Chinas search engine Baidou but wasn’t successful.

Does anyone of you do know more about the history of in China developed and produces calculators in general and the first graphical calculator in particular?

Any hint will be very much appreciated - thank you very much in advance.

Best regards

Karl

Calculator is just an app on a tablet. (perhaps this is why picture is not included!)
