My HP Prime G2 stuck - Amaral Pascoal - 10-02-2024 09:57 PM

Hello.

I have problems with my HP Prime now. please, help me! the buttons are swapped (the "-" decreases the screen brightness and the "+" increases the screen brightness; the "divide" goes to the terminal screen"), and every time I press "Esc", it goes to an "Exam Mode" screen, that has "Configurations - Basic Mode" and to choose the angle. And the Symb button reset. It also does not turn off... I press "shift" and then "off" and it does nothing. And seems like the "On" button is stuck. When I hold down the "On" button, I can change the screen brightness with the "+" and "-" buttons, divide goes to the terminal screen, and Esc goes to exam mode. Please, you can help me? I am from Brazil! Sorry for my english.

From your description, it seems that the On key is indeed stuck. It appears as if it's being continuously pressed. This is most likely a mechanical issue or something is blocking the key from underneath (dirt, a crumb, etc.). If your device is new, it should probably be repaired under warranty. When you press the On key, do you hear the characteristic 'click' sound like with other keys? Or is the press rather silent?

Some years ago, I had a similar situation with my ON key. I ended up opening up the calculator. I brushed off the wires to the keyboard and also cleaned underneath the ON key dome. I'm not sure of these two actions was responsible, but when I put it back together, the button worked.

All the best with yours.

Hello, mister Kowalewski.
How are you going?

By the first i want to say sorry for answering you so late, especially because you answered me very fast. I have been very busy with my studies in the Federal Institute, here in Brazil.

Now about your sugestion about the device warranty, at the time of the previous message my device are in the warranty, for sure. However, my modifications in the calculator does not allow the store who sell the HP Prime for me solve my problem in any way (warranty is gone because brazilian laws).

About the solution for my problem, i find a solution for him and thank you so much because you contribute for this indeed.

After doing what you and the second mister in the comments suggested, and other n-big tries too, i perceive that i have not charged the calculator for 4 hours when i first remove her from the box.

So, i perveice too that indeed i have charged her much times, but the charge have something like a bug, and apparently i am not charging her entirely.

After perceiving that, i calculated that the Hp Prime charges 25% of the battery in 4 hours. So, i let her on and wait till her are completely uncharged.

And then, completely uncharged, i let him charging during 16 hours (entirely charging, not stopping). 16 hours because this is a time who are equal to 100% of the battery.

In the end, i have my HP Prime fully back, like i have buyed a new calculator in the store.

I thank you for your help because by that i can see that exists, for sure, a good international helping politic between the users of this site. A great work!

My problem are entirely solved, and i think that the conversation between us in this posts can help not only me or yours who answered me, but the other users of the HP Prime too.

Ending,
i send to you a great and fraternal hug.
