HP 9825a and Larry Atherton - Geoff Quickfall - 11-22-2024 05:30 AM

Hello everyone.

A short note advising everyone that Larry Atherton has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and will not be answering any emails in the future.

I tried contacting him by email over the last three weeks to no avail until his daughter answered my emails advising me of Larry’s terminal condition.

A few years ago, Larry helped me with my HP 9825A tape drive as he has with many others whom he helped. Unfortunately, for all of us, we will miss these individuals with their expertise and they’re willingness to help others in this hobby.

For what it is worth; all the best Larry

Cheers, and thanks, Geoff.

That's very sad to hear.
He helped Norman Pillsbury to extract data from DC100 cartridges:

It's such a shame to hear this. Larry supplied me with a refurbished HP-85 last year, which is a superb piece of work. As you know, Geoff, I'm not a stranger to asking irritating follow-up questions and he very patiently dealt with those too. Kindest, Andrew
