Synching virtual HP Prime backups using connectivity kit? - Orome - 11-27-2024 08:21 PM

Assuming I can get over my squeamishness about the HP Connectivity Kit, how do I use it to sync backups among a physical calculator, a macOS calculator, and an iOS calculator? I see how to make backups from the physical calculator, but the macOS calculator doesn't even appear in Connectivity Kit, and there seems to be no way to connect with or even create or import backups from/to the iOS app.

I've not tried syncing backups, but my MacOS virtual Prime does appear in the CK.

Both the CK, and the virtual Prime, are on:

CK: Build: 2.1.14425 (2020 1 16)

MacOS 13.7.1

Modern MacOS is quite picky about permissions and it's quite easy to miss something on first run and then you find something doesn't work mcuh later.

So I would suggest re-installing both the Connectivity Kit and the Emulator. (Drag both to the trash and empty it to be sure, before starting over.) You need to say yes to all the permissions they ask for, especially allowing incoming network connections.

In the apps' settings menu I have enable network, mDns and MultiBroadcast all ticked, with network name set to "HP_Classroom".

That sounds exactly right. I'm pretty sure I have totally blocked mDNS.
