HP-12C self test - natocccp - 10-18-2014 10:00 PM

Hi All,

recently bought HP-12C for my collection from 1984.

Calculator works fine, except self test. It simply doesn't react on specific key sequence for Voyager series.

Does anyone have an idea what could be a problem?

Thank you

Does the memory reset work?

ON + <minus key>

Which of the 3 self tests is a problem?

1) ON + <divide key> = keyboard/LCD segment test
2) ON + <multiply key> = single ROM/RAM/LCD test
3) ON + <addition key> = continuous ROM/RAM/LCD test

It sounds like test (1) is the issue. Are you pressing the keys in the correct order -- left to right, top row to bottom row, Enter key gets pressed twice?

Hi Katie,

thank you for help.

ON and <minus key> combination did help.

Now all self tests can be activated and calculator passed them all.

Kind regards
